Cooperative Sagebrush Initiative - Web Links

NAGP works to bring the plight of declining grouse species and their habitats to the attention of the public, provides oversight for the health of grouse populations, implements solutions to the problems causing grouse declines and encourages public policies and management decisions that will enhance important habitats and grouse populations.

Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies
WAFWA, representing 23 states and Canadian provinces, has been a key organization in promoting the principles of sound resource management and the building of partnerships at the regional, national and international levels in order to enhance wildlife conservation efforts and the protection of associated habitats in the public interest.

Western Governor's Association - Sage Grouse Conservation
The Western Governor's Association has compiled a wealth of valuable information around the states' efforts to conserve sage grouse and sagebrush habitat.  This site includes two reports on sage grouse as well as information on each states' sage grouse activities.

Sage-Grouse Local Working Group Locator
The Sage-Grouse Local Working Group Locator is a web-based, geographically-linked database to identify who and where Local Working Groups (LWG) are range-wide, as well as what types of projects and conservation efforts have been identified in a specific area. The LWG Locator provides a central resource for LWGs and interested stakeholders in order to facilitate greater connectivity and information exchange throughout the region.
 
Sagebrush Bird Conservation Network
The Sagebrush Bird Conservation Network is committed to the preservation and enhancement of shrubsteppe bird populations and the sagebrush ecosystems they depend on. This network strives to improve coordination among individuals and institutions that conduct research on sagebrush associated birds and provide science based recommendations and decision support tools for land managers. This site contains information and products including monitoring protocols and version 1.0 of the SBCN interactive study areas map. 

Greater Sage-grouse Range-wide Issues Forum (pdf)
The Greater Sage-grouse Range-wide Issues Forum (Forum), sponsored by the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, is one of several important processes contributing to development of the Greater Sage-grouse Comprehensive Conservation Strategy. The Final Forum Report presents the findings and recommendations from the collaborative work of this 35-member working group.

Northeastern Nevada Stewardship Group
The Northeastern Nevada Stewardship Group functions in the Elko County region, and works to expand natural resource educational opportunities for citizens of diverse interest, local governmental entities, and state and federal agency personnel. This site includes the Elko County Sagebrush Ecosystem Strategy.

NBII Great Basin Information Project
The Great Basin Photo Catalog contains over 2000 images of plants, animals, geology, and scenery in the Great Basin and Columbia Plateau. All of the images are downloadable for use in presentations, reports, wallpaper, or anywhere you see fit.  The images are keyworded and indexed to allow for quick searches.  Also each image has a compliant metadata record to round out information regarding the subject.  You can find pictures here. Thunder Basin Grassland Prairie Ecosystem Association
The Association was established with the objective of maintaining responsible economic uses of the landscape while demonstrating how effective stewardship of natural resources can be provided through voluntary, privately-led, collaborative efforts.
